I know that Mermen probably aren't feminists, but this series of works were great. I have enjoyed reading the different views of religion, sexual equality, and other interesting topics for this time period. The "Forsaken Merman" was a creepy portrayal of religion and the loss of imagination and belief. "The Woman's Cause is Man's" was also great. This poem was in favor of equality for women and sang the praises of females as being as important in the circle of life as man.
Getting along, going along, and reading along-life is going on.

So Far-kenstein....
I have to tell you that I am not a huge, huge fan of the Romantic period. I like more direct language and I struggle to have to re-read what I have read for it to sink in. Now, I am a smart cookie about things, but this language usage does throw me for a loop some of the time. I have enjoyed reading about Mary Shelley's life and how Frankenstein came to life. I did not love the "Ancient Maniner"
Reading works of this time have such a sense of darkness and depression. Reading their hardships give my reading mind a foggy grey feeling of sadness for the people of these works.

Have a lot to say-always
My name is Candice. I am a wife, a mother to a beautiful daughter, Noel, and I work for the Girl Scouts Red Lands Council. I am an aspiring writer, hence the English courses! I am actually in my Master's program in Creative Writing at UCO, but I have some prerequisites to take. I am actually glad about that because I need to ease into college life again. I have been out of school for four years now so being back in is odd and exciting.
We have two dogs, Zero, our seven year old Chihuahua and Phoebe, our four year old Boston Terrier. We also have Maenered, our six year old and rather hefty orange tabby cat.
Our home is a zoo with color and drama and is full of life. I look forward to learning more and growing in the mind rather than the pant size!
